the search engine spiders dont seem to show up as googlebot etc correctly.
for instance googlebot should access the board using an ip range between 66.249.65.0 and 66.249.65.255, at my board t visits on 66.249.65.115
however it does not show up as the googlebot and as such does not get the member priv to view all the forums or does it get told to view the simple skin.
is there a way to set up the search engine spiders so it works better? maybe allowing us to add our own ip ranges for them? maybe a 2.0?

is there a way we could add GoogleBots ip range so that it actually shows up as the googlebot and the board will then follow the rules to show googlebot the stuff that is selected in the ACP

it will at times, i have googlebot as a guest on my forums all the time, yet the guest has the same IP as when google shows up correctly as a bot. i dont know if there is a way for what u want, but i know that google does show up as a bot every now and then..
this is from my online list:
GoogleBot ( 66.249.65.115 )
Guest ( 66.249.65.115 )

Go to, I believe, General Configuration...It may also be Security & Privacy.

Hey,
Googlebot isn't identifed by IPs - it's identifed by the user agent string that is sent with every request.
I'll look into the issue with Googlebot showing up twice on the list.

Yeah. Will help. In General Config. you can change the name of the Bots' names.
